Report on the PPC to Thurgoona. At the request of Parish Priest of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Thurgoona NSW, a team of 13 Legionaries arrived on Saturday 18th October 32003. Most of the team were from Melbourne, with one from Hobart and one from Bendigo. The team was commissioned at the 8.30 Mass on Sunday 19th October. Visitation did not start until Monday as Sunday was rather wet and the Parish Priest, being concerned for us, would not let us go out. By Friday the 24th October all 1447 homes had been visited, with 819 not at home, 467 not Catholic, and 160 Catholic. On Saturday we started revisiting those who were not home and found another 102 Catholics, making a total of 262 Catholics. There were still a number of people not home. On the Saturday half of the team returned to Melbourne. There were a number of lapsed Catholics found and from the first day contact was made to the Parish Priest after we had visited them. Each member of the team could tell a highlight or two about their work. Like the non-Catholic who asked if she could go to Mass and she took the information sheet. Her next door neighbour was Catholic, but did want to talk. Please pray that God may work through her neighbour and she may return to the Church. All your prayers were answered, it was my first time as team leader and everyone got on so well. There were a few hiccups but nothing major, nothing that disrupted the work. By Wednesday 29th all visiting had been completed and the remainder of the team returned to Melbourne, tired but happy Team Leader
